I'm excited to read last year's posts, I'm a newbie here :)
You came up with an amazing form for Thanksgiving and Christmas planning (for the actual dates; not the seasons). Do you plan on bringing those back or will you devise something new? As I get older, I am finding that I am not fond of the hurry scurry of holiday planning. There is more meaning to the celebrations and I would rather emphasize that than put the emphasis on gifting. I have informed my family that I will not "break the bank" this year or in the future. They will have to save up for their expensive wants. Does that sound "cold"? Well, the reality is that life didn't get less expensive and our pensions will not be going up this year, so I have to deal with my reality. How about others?
I'm with you, Dianne. It's only hub and myself (no children and all family are out of state), but this year I'm determined not have have us sit home on Christmas Day watching movies. We don't put up a tree anymore, but we do the icicle lights and lighted deer outside the house, beautiful wreath and some other interior decor. As for inserts, I know gift lists are pretty common, but I want to do some hardcore baking/cooking. Maybe a Christmas cookie/ingredient list?
