What's New With Planner Fun

Note:  My blog is still "open" even though the posts have been sporadic because of time constraints.  March has been a very busy month!

I have been all over the place lately when it comes to my daily and weekly planning.  I used the Week on 2 Pages PLUS (and some moderation's) for several weeks, and found the layout super helpful.  I think I have finally learned, though, that my original Week on 2 Pages (created based on the layout Giftie Etcetera used when I first discovered her blog) will always be my favorite.  Because I like to create templates as much as I like to use them, I updated it slightly - just with a new font and a slightly larger inner column.

I tried using daily pages everyday for a time, and while I really liked the page I created (basically I copied the Franklin Covey daily page, sorry I can't share it), I found that I almost stopped using my weekly pages and felt disorganized and wondered constantly if I was forgetting something.  I went back only using daily pages on super-busy days.

Notice how I keep talking about "going back" to my original layouts and methods? That shows me to stick with what works - but that's probably not going to stop me from creating!

What's the Most Unusual Thing in Your Planner?

In the past 6 years since my transplant, I've had around one cold per year. They affect me differently than they used to and since I have suppressed immune system, they last a lot longer.  I was sick the entire month of December with the simple common cold.

With it being cold and flu season, I've been a bit paranoid about going out in public.  People are generally not as conscientious about spread germs as they are about avoiding them.  I recently bought a mask and put it in the zippered portion of my dashboard. Let's just hope I have the nerve to pull it out and put it on when I encounter a lot of coughing and sniffling.

What's New in my Planner

You may have noticed that I didn't post last week! #MajorBusy  This week is pretty busy as well but I am going to do my best to get some blogging in this week.  Tomorrow I have a 3 hour trip to my kidney doctor at Vandy and an appointment with my periodontist on Wednesday, so we shall see how it goes.  ::grin::

You won't be surprised to know that I've been playing around with new layouts...again.  I'm sorry, I can't share them with you because I basically recreated the Franklin Covey daily layout. It is typically used on the left side with notes but I switched that around.  I've printed my dailies on both sides as well as punched both sides.  There's a daily notes section that gets changed out when needed.

I am back to my original week on two pages layout and am trying a fold out calendar similar to DIYfish's layout.  The monthly calendar is all backward.  I'm not a fan of the vertical layout.

Something new:  I've moved my home school lesson plans into my planner.  For William's high school lesson plans I modified the FC-style daily page and use it.  I find the notes section especially helpful to keep up with high school information.  For Jonathan's plans I use a week on one page that I designed.  I also use a notes section for his plans, but one page will usually last me the whole week.

Ideas for Inserts Conclusion [Part 4]

Looking for inserts on Pinterest seems like a no-brainer, wouldn't you agree?  I could get lost in all the beautiful inserts shared freely there.

I scroll through Pinterest regularly just looking for a topic to get me started with an idea.  How many Week on 2 Pages layouts does one person need?  My take is you always need choices!  (I have many WO2P layouts in both indexes!)

Sometimes I see a layout that I want that is for sale but I know that I can duplicate it myself.  What to do?   If I ever duplicate one of those inserts, I never offer it on my blog.  That wouldn't be right at all.  The DIYfish daily page is one of those pages.  I don't feel like her system of fold out daily, weekly and monthly pages would work for me but I absolutely love the daily page and it is my go to when I need a daily (not very often, once or twice a month).

Here's my favorite planner Pinterest board:  DIY Planners & Organizers Pinterest Group - and of course there is always mine:
