Planner Chat: Vertical Storage & Starting a New Month

A little over a month ago, my husband built me this wonderful workspace that replaced a dark corner and a 50-year-old (at least) desk.  My  14  years of homeschooling was over and I was getting tired of spreading out my supplies on the dining room table and then having to put them up every night.

It has taken me a while to develop this space.  I didn't want to spend a lot of money because, in addition to being very frugal, I enjoy finding ways to do something in the least expensive way possible.  This desk/table is 8 feet long and fits into a little space between the fireplace and the wall.  There's lots of room to put everything I want on the desk, but that also eats up my workspace when I want to pull out the laminator or spread out my planner.

I was thinking of some sort of shelf when I stumbled upon these mini milk crates at the Dollar Tree.  Excellent!  I bought four (see image above) and stacked them against the wall.  They are the perfect size to hold all the little things that have nowhere to go (stapler, post-it notes, etc.).  They are not going anywhere, but to make them a bit more sturdy, I plan to secure them with some zip ties from Dollar Tree.

I'm excited for a new month in my Travelers Notebook.  I have enjoyed using it for a full month now and I can see myself using it long-term, but I also realize that I'm a creature of change and I one day I'm going to want to pull out the rings.

I've also enjoyed blogging again and look forward to making more content.  I'd love to know if there's anything you guys would like to see on my blog.  Just ask!
