Prep + Peace • simple planning • calm hearts • one-page setup
Christmas Eve can be a beautiful day.
It can also feel like a lot.
Meals to prep. People to see. Church times to remember. And underneath all of it, we’re really just hoping the day feels peaceful.
Here’s what helps me: setting up one simple planner page just for Christmas Eve.
Why one page works so well
Christmas Eve doesn’t need a full spread or a detailed schedule.
One page keeps everything in view. It lowers the mental noise and helps you focus on what actually matters.

1) Write down the meals
Food is usually the biggest moving part of Christmas Eve. I like to get it out of my head and onto the page.
Keep it simple:
- What we’re eating
- What needs to be prepped
- What can wait until later
This alone removes so much last-minute stress.
2) List the people
Christmas Eve often includes different people than Christmas Day.
I jot down who we’re seeing, who’s stopping by, or who we’re calling. It helps me slow down and be more present with each one.
3) Add church times
This is the one thing I don’t want to scramble for at the last minute.
Include:
- Service time
- When to leave the house
- Anything you need to bring
When this is written down, your heart can settle.
4) Keep the to-dos gentle
This is not a long checklist kind of day.
I stick to a few small, realistic tasks.
Examples:
Wrap remaining gifts
Set out clothes
Light candles
This page is about peace
The goal isn’t to do everything.
The goal is to walk into Christmas Eve feeling prepared enough that you can actually enjoy it.
One simple page can hold the whole day.
And when everything has a place, your heart has room to rest. That’s the kind of planning Christmas deserves.
Tell me: What’s the one thing you most want to feel on Christmas Eve—prepared or peaceful?
