Coming January 5: Planning in Real Life with Michael Diaz-Griffith

On January 5, I’ll be sharing the first post in a new series called Planning in Real Life. The idea is simple: I’m asking people how they plan, what they use, and what actually helps them get through their day. No perfect systems—just real planning in real life.

What This Series Will Show

Everyone has a different way of keeping life organized. Some use a paper planner, some use apps, and some use a mix of everything. But in every case, something has to hold the pieces together.

These interviews will highlight:

  • What people write down
  • What they track
  • What matters most in their day
  • Where planning tends to fall apart
  • What keeps things running

My hope is that you’ll read along and find a few ideas that will help you in your own planning.

“No perfect systems—just real planning in real life.”

First Interview: Michael Diaz-Griffith

The first conversation is with Michael Diaz-Griffith.

You can find him on Instagram at @michaeldiazgriffith.

His answers give a clear, honest look at how he manages busy days, work responsibilities, and personal commitments. Nothing complicated—just what’s actually working for him right now.

What to Expect on January 5

Every interview will follow the same set of questions, so you can compare and learn from different people over time. We’ll cover:

  • What their daily planning looks like
  • What tools they use
  • How they stay on track
  • How they handle interruptions
  • What routines help them most

This first interview sets the tone and gives a helpful look at planning from a real, everyday perspective.

January 5 — Interview goes live

Come back then, read Michael’s answers, and use what fits your life.

Until then, maybe take a moment and ask yourself:

What is the one thing you rely on to keep your days from falling apart?

That question is at the heart of Planning in Real Life—finding what truly works.

I read and reply to every comment. If you ask a question, be sure to come back for the answer.
