Friday Felicities for December 19

Friday Felicities

Friday Felicities is a weekly reminder to pause and celebrate the good things—big or small—that make you happy. It started years ago as a fun meme by my sweet friend Nattie, who always encouraged us to count our blessings. Though Nattie has been in heaven since 2007, her joy still inspires me today.

If you’d like to join me, I’d love for you to share your own list of happy things on your blog, Facebook, or favorite social platform. Leave a comment with your link so I can stop by and visit—it would make me smile to see what’s bringing you joy. You can also share your Felicities in the Friday Felicities Facebook page, which is active again and ready to welcome your posts of gratitude and joy! Feel free to use the button below on your own blog or website.

Things That Make Me Happy

Nattie's birthday was this week on  the 15th.  We used to remember her by drinking Diet Coke , wearing purple and reading - she LOVED books.  I can't believe it's been 18 years since she went to heaven.  She was a true gem.  These are the things that make me happy this week:

1. Solutions.

I have been having a rough time with back pain for a long time.  Losing weight has helped some, but I still can't stand long periods of time and sleeping in my bed and sitting at my desk has been very difficult.  After several hours I am hobbling in pain!  My recliner is the only place I have been able to find relief. This week a thought popped into my head - I even think God gave me the idea. I have a all-in-one PC and it is relatively light.  Why not bring it into the den and put it on my side table (a short 3 drawer chest)?  In 5 minutes I had it set up right next to recliner.  Now I can work on my Etsy stuff in my recliner with my feet put up.  Instant relief.  Thank you, Lord!

2. Another great weigh-in.

Any weight loss is good in my opinion.  Mine is slow and steady and I'll take it.  I think it was .7 lbs today.  Just a fracation away from being exactly 40 pounds today.  I posted on Facebook today that my son had me hold two of his 20 lb weights.  That was heavy!  Perspective is everything..

3. Provision.

Winter can often be very difficult for painters.  Last year was particularly trying but God has always been faithful to take care of our needs.  You perspective on needs can also change!  My guys continue to find indoor painting jobs.  I am looking forward to Spring!
