Use Your Planner to Remember Things
A short throwback post from the Planner Fun vault — still useful today.

Archive note: This post is adapted from an older Planner Fun entry. I’m sharing it again because the idea is still solid — and honestly, we all need reminders we can trust.

I’ve always loved blog posts that share different ways to use a planner—especially the kind of ideas that go beyond appointments and to-do lists.

1) The “Future Me” Reminder

I remember watching the final episode of a Netflix show and learning the decision about a new season wouldn’t be made until the fall. And I thought, Will I even remember this show by then?

So I flipped to my future pages and wrote the name of the show with a simple question mark under September. Done. No system. Just a reminder waiting for me later.

2) The “Use This” Code Reminder

Another quick idea: I used to forget free Redbox codes even though the text was on my phone. The code was there… but it didn’t pop into my brain at the right moment.

So I started writing the code number on my weekly page (usually in red so it stood out). Seeing it throughout the week reminded me I had a free rental available.

I didn’t always go get a movie just because I had a code, but I did remember I had one. And sometimes that’s the whole point.

Archive takeaway: If something matters later, write it where you’ll actually see it—on the day, week, or month it will matter.
